my ac
lately ive been noticing that when i start my car after it has been off for a while with the climate control turned to the off setting and when i turn it on i hear like a loud grind and then it goes away. and then when i turn off the AC and then turn it back on it doesnt do it, same if i stop the car and restart it. 
is this normal or should i get it looked at? also my AC smells like ass what can i do to fix that?

that smell could be from a moisture issue. let the fans run w/o AC a bit before you turn off your car (such as when you are a mile or so from destination). that could help at least blow out/dry some of the condensation out of those vents. that type of stuff can get musty smelling.
