So does anyone else realize this thread was started in 2001? That's why the first page of replies had such low mileage...

238,465 miles as of today, 6/1. It's a 97 3.2, all my friends love this car, and they all recoil in shock when they first glance at the odometer. Even my mechanic couldn't believe it. I bought it used (4k miles ago) from a Acura nut with a 3-car garage.

Plus, I got it real cheap (the D4 light was out  )

But with gas prices this nasty I'm going to be taking the bus more. God speed, Go90go.

Thanks, m8. The car's been down for a little over 2 months now. I was driving my SC in the time being, but since my buddy's brother totalled it, I have no car...

^Mine is still on the original tranny from 0 to 236,500... Did you have to replace yours at 150,000 or so?

~Cheers~

Thanks! My transmission is actually in great shape--I suspect it's been replaced once already. Brakes, on the other hand, are about due...feels like a couple rotors are warped.

It also needs a deck, the last owner took theirs with them.

Uh huh. The previous owner (who took it from ~60 to 234 thousand) was at 150k when he heard it break right off as he was pulling up to a red light. I feel a hard downshift (2nd to 1st, I think) as I brake into stoplights sometimes and I swear, whenever that happens my TL experiences a flashback to that fateful and expensive day.

It seems like quite a few of you second gens like to come over here to chat! Is it really that boring over there? Is everyone talking about body kits and how their trannys suck? We always talk about BHGs and things blowing up...

~Cheers~

My odometer hit 275k.. and then the HG blew. I did a compression check and it's already 15% low on one cylinder and with a host of other problems, so I'm swapping in a 100k mile motor in the coming weekend. I really love my TL, can't let it die quite yet!

I've got a 96 TL 2.5 Premium. Bought it in the middle of May just after it rolled over 141,000, now it has 147,6xx. I drive mine quite a bit.

By the way, someone posted that he expected problems with a 98 trasmission at 150,000 - is that just for 98's? Or all 1st gens? I have never heard of this problem before with 1st gens, only 2nd gens.
