Metal burning smell while racing...

Metal burning smell while racing...

I have a question, when im racing and i gun it in D4 or drop to D2-D3 while racing, it has killer lag shifting at 6 grand and after it does finally shift or i let off i start to smell a metal burning type of smell....whats this mean??

i dont think i changed it in a while but in a couple months i plan on getting an 04-05 srt4 or the 01-03 wrx...which would you pick?

First off down shifting manually at high RPM's is not the greatest thing for your tranny. Thats not what that function was designed for. The other thing is even though your car can rev to 6k doesnt mean it produces its max horse power that high. I suggest you check your tranny fluid and change it. Be sure to use either ATF from honda or buy friction modifier along with dextron 3 ATF. Also read up on the powerband of your car
