Loose battery connection

Loose battery connection

The connection on my battery's negative terminal is loose enough to come off while driving. It's tightened all the way down, but it still pulls off. Any suggestions on how to tighten it/put something on the terminal to take up the slack? It doesn't kill the car while it's driving, but once I turn the car off I have to pop the hood and reconnect it. It gets a bit annoying.

I did that for awhile, until I took a spade connector, a hammer, and pounded that thing down. It's in good now.

P.S. Never use a positive terminal on the negative post. That's what got me into this in the first place but I didn't have any negatives left.

P.P.S. Oh, and since we have a strong alternator (110A), we have enough current to run everything even if the battery is out of the car.

I had the same problem, but I just unscrewed the battery terminal connector (what’s its official name anyway?), used some reversed pliers to open the sucker up, then hammered it as far down as it would go on the terminal. It looked like it was all the way down to begin with, but the hammer changed my prospective. No issues since.

Try changing the connector. A hammer is not a good solution.
