Safety Car
Are you guessing about the check engine light or do you know that the 02 is bad? Is there a change in the car's behavior/feel?
Vas's suggestion is sound but it is a lot of hassle.
Sometimes the check engine light just comes on from bad gas or who knows what. Hook the car to an OBD and it will read what is stored in the car's computer. Even if it says that the CEL is on because of a slow 02 sensor, this doesn't necessarily mean it is bad. With the OBD scanner, you can delete the entry from your computer's memory.
The cheaper (for those without access to an OBD scanner) alternative is to disconnect your battery (have radio code handy if using stock headunit!) for a little while.
Once you've cleared the entry either way, pour a bottle of fuel injector cleaner into your tank, and make sure the fuel cap is tightened to three clicks. Drive the car for at least 50 miles. If the check engine light comes on again, this still doesn't mean the 02 sensor (or other costly things) are broken.
If the car is idling roughly, replace the PC valve. It's cheap and plastic and sometimes gets stuck.

You can buy an OBD II analyzer for about $150 or so (which will tell you which code you have & will let you reset the code) OR you can get auto zone to check it (& they might clear it, too) for you, no charge. You can look at the OBD II codes on numerous websites. My recommendation is to verify which CEL code you have before taking any actions. Put "check engine" into this forum's search engine and you will learn which CEL codes are most prevalent for our cars.
GOOD LUCK!!
