Key Fob?
From what i can read in the old threads, the '96 TL 2.5 had a Kenwood system for the keyless entry. Are there aftermarket FOB's available now? Those threads were several years old.
Thanks!

They opened my door, but deactivated the alarm so I installed an aftermarket system with keyless entry myself. This was years ago, though.

This is my step-daughter's car. I am not looking to put a system in, I just wonder if I can buy a fob and program it to the existing system.
Otherwise, she can use the key, lol

As far as I know, 96 2.5TL did not come with keyless from factory. The ones with the Kenwood system are dealer installed option and chances of finding a remote for that is very slim (that's if you even have that installed). An aftermarket keyless system does not cost much, but that's up to you.

i think i still have mine somewhere...lol.. but get a cheap one that locks and unlock and actually have the lights flash when you arm/disarm.. stock one did not do that. i had to go look at my car a couple of times just to make sure i lock it..lol.

97 3.2 TL Fob Question
I too am in the market for a new fob for a 97' 3.2 TL. The thing is, I had to have the alarm disabled because it would just randomly go off in the middle of the night and drive my neighbors crazy. Also, the car was (and still is) doing this weird thing where it will continuously try to lock the doors after I lock the doors once (i.e. I get out, lock the doors, and then the car tries to lock the doors on its own several times).
So, with those two issues, does anyone think getting a new after market security system would be a better path to take? What are good/affordable systems?
