K&N Drop-In Replacement Air Filter?
I have a new 06 TL and am asking members of the 1st generation TL that have been using the K&N drop-in air filter their feelings. I hear in the 3rd generation section many strong opinions both positive and negative. The only negative is that much more dirt in allowed to enter the engine. Is this true and does engine life actually suffer? I figure you guys have put many more miles on your cars so you would probably have excellent first hand experience. Thanks. Steve

well no dirt will enter your engine, if so, kn would have been out of business long time ago. However it does get dirty pretty quick but thats a good sign b/c its sucking up air and naturally air is not clean, obviously. Engine life suffers if you drive while the filter is super duper dirty b/c the engine is not getting enough oxygen.
