ya when i found it on the lot the steering wheel was waaaaay off center and felt kinda clunky. i told them i wanted it. (i was trading in a 99 landrover discovery 2) but they had to fix the wheel. they said "oh its just the alignment but we will fix it." ya, turned out to be the whole rack in pinion set up so it took them a few days to get the part in and have the shop put it in, they also put new pads on the front and back.
but now thats its all said and done it drives great I honestly dont have a single complaint besides the fact that i like the look of the stock stereo but it only plays 3 cds out of my entire collection...

Believe me, I've been doing that for the past year+. Three very promising deals fell through literally right before I was going to hand over the money. First, a low mileage white one with not a scratch on the entire car was sold by someone related to the seller without her being notified of it (and for less money, too). Then a black one was hit the day before I was to finalise the deal, and a granite one where the guy was leaving town that day and needed the money immediately. It was a Sunday, though, so the banks were closed. At least I got a nice little road trip out of that one.
The rest have either been hit before and shoddily repaired or had high mileage with low maintenance (2 in Arizona), listed at a ridiculous price (Miami), no title or records (LA), sellers who weren't serious (San Diego, Stockton, Phoenix) or the worst: scratched up, dented, filthy and too expensive (one in SF, one in Modesto). The ones in WA just couldn't answer questions or be bothered to send more photos of the cars.
I'm just about to give up.
~Cheers~

^ No lie, these cars are hard to find because I've also been browsing my local craigslist every week to see I there are any out there. As days progress I've noticed that eBay has fewer listing of these cars. Don't give up after going through all that. I wish you best of luck and hope you find one soon!

It's just too bad that these cars are so rare, and the ones that are on sale have 150k abusive miles on them.
