Hey guys, lately my intake has been getting louder (sounds kinda like a vacuum particularly a shop vac, yeah that loud!) Then when you shut car off the intake sounds like a vacuum and takes a 2-3 seconds to fade off insted of just shutting off. I think it is somewhere in between the filter and manifold. I diconnected the filter and checked for clogging and found that the noise was really load when not muffled by the filter and stuff. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Daniel

Oh yeah Its a 96 3.2tl

Mine does the same thing and ive had it for years. It is just the engine's vacuum de-pressurizing. in order for it so suck air in it needs the vacuum and when you shut the car off it is releasing the unused air and returning to normal atmospheric pressure.

yeah, thats a normal sound with a aftermarket air intake

yeah mine does it too and i just have a 2.5 with a filter on there instead of the stock air box

is it a custom intake or is it a universal one?
i need info as i'm really looking forward to getting one

My car is completely stock(I guess I bought it used w/ 80k) except for the K&N. I'm planning on cold air but I haven't really researched it, plus Im still trying to forget the $1500 for TB/waterpump etc @90k.

my car (98 2.5TL) has 137000km on it, my stock intake is getting loud for some reason lately, i'm not sure why either.

all i've done is open up the intake box and taken a look to see if i can fit on a filter cone, but i'm sure i tighten it back on properly.
