Inspire Taillights wannabes
I was looking at my stock taillights the other day and was wondering if there was a way to bake the tails and so that the actual lens was off and i was able to cut off the amber and bake everything back on...? Would this be possible?

you preheat the oven to 225 and keep it at that temp, dont turn it off. put the tail light in there for 8 minutes and take it out. start pulling the tail apart but very carefully b/c the edges are fragile. the rubber seal wont be completely ready to pry apart so you have to put the tail light back in the oven a couple times but each time, put it in for half the time you did before or the plastic will get so hot, it'll dent. (happened to my practice ones). keep pulling them apart until it comes into two pieces and then the turn signal falls right out. when you want to put them back together, reverse the process of heating up the seal in the oven and keep pushing it together until it's back to normal. you might want to add some extra silicone sealant in between the original seal to help keep moisture out of your tail. there's probably a better explanation on this site than what i've said, just search for "inspire tails".

you can get the spray paint at a hobby shop, use candy apple red instead of hot rod red, it comes out closer to the stock red taillight. it's cheap, only $3 a bottle. he can spray directly on his taillights though b/c he has a 2nd gen TL. you cannot do that with our 1st gens, you have to completely take the taillight apart into 3 pieces.

the light bulb or the entire tail light? there's a couple threads on here about doing it but none of them have pictures. here's another explanation. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...highlight=oven. just so you know...this was a royal PITA and i did screw up my practice tail and had to order a new one but luckily the second time around i knew what to do. if i knew how hard it was going to be before i did it..i would have just said screw it. even though i sucessfully did it the second time, it's really not worth the effort or the risk.
