I don't have the inspire tail lights yet, but thinking about them. I have a question for you though. I notice that the inspire tail lights only have one light bulb for brake light instead of two. Did you drill for the second bulb? or you just use one bulb?

yeah they only have one brake light, i just used that one. i figured they worked fine for the japanese people, it should be fine with me. i don't wanna drill holes if i don't have to.

granted it was a little dissapointing but heck i had to redo my entire rear end so spending a few extra bucks for a set of inspire tailights was worth it. i don't think i would've bought a set just out of the blue cause it is pretty steep. but since i had to get a new set anyways and the OEMs were running around 450 or so figured i spend 50 more dollars and be "unique". not that anyone would notice.

Yeah, I really need new tail lights. I think it's the only thing holding my car back from looking damn good. I was thinking about the inspires, but when I heard about that yellow piece in there I thought twice about it. I like em, but I need to know if that yellow can be removed with out a problem. I wish we could do a group buy for custom tails. Right now I would rather have phat looking tails than a front or rear spoiler.

it's only a small yellow piece that covers the bulb. but i have no idea how to get it out though other than taking the whole thing apart. i think someone on here before did it by cutting it to little pieces or dissolving it and then pulling it through the hole but i'm not sure how efficient that is or what the risks are involving that.

first of all, the whole thing with the inspire tail lights is to go jdm, to have an "import". not to clear out the orange or whatever. if you want to just go clear, THEN CLEAR OUT YOUR REGULAR ONES! not work $500 just so you can be clear.

I have the inspire tail lights and I had the second hole drilled. It's because the Japanese use one brake light while Americans use two. The reason why there is still a little piece of yellow in it is because the people in back of you need to see your turn signal when it's on and it would be pretty difficult to see with clear tail lights. Otherwise, you might end up in an accident. Plus, I think it has to be that way in order for the lights to be approved by the department of motor vehicles. But the good thing about them is that you can only really see the yellow or orange, whatever the color is, when the turn signal is on.

all i know is that it is possible to remove the yellow from the Inspire Tails. As for the stock ones, i don't think it's possible cause the plastic is actually yellow, there's no film or whatever that you guys can scrape off.

hmmmm i don't think AEM makes CAI for our cars, maybe he meant a custom made one. it's possible to custom make a CAI or short ram cause a lot of people on this board has it.
