So yeah, both my cars in the past have been red, and I think the first gen would look absolutely bad ass in red... I'm thinking Milano Red (Legend Red). What do you guys think? Waste of Money, or classy investment? My current color is Pacific Blue

Just my opinion, I had a Jeep, Truck, and a Oldsmobile in RED... Any Car looks good in red, and I think it would look better than usual cus its a 1st gen... just playing around though

I think that will actually look good. If you go darker, it will be like the accord color reds, which I don't like. A lighter shade like the legend will look good. That pic of the legend you posted doesn't show the red that great. Think of it like this:

I like the maroon RL. It is a subtle color and works well with the car but not cherry red. Are you talking about the cherry red coupe legend?

Thats my car, lol. and I dont mind. I think that our cars are too big/long to be painted red. the legend coupe is shorter and looks sportier in red. if you wanna do it i say go for it and fuck what anyone else thinks, lol. im not entirely sure if it would look good in the bright red.

I really like the redondo red pearl color. If i got a new TL i would get redondo red. I really like the maroon color on the first gens too.

this is the red u should go for..imo. it would look ready good.
for some people the tl is a family car, leave it as is. but to others "like us" the tl is a luxuary/sporty car that thinks it looks good with wheel and that is drop and lets say diffrenet, we express our self with our cars.

but in pursuit to be different... and since you have a strong positive opinion about the color red on a car and you like it like that... i say go for it... why not... It is your car... you can do whatever you want to it...

Me personally wouldn't even think of painting my car red... for some weird reason... can't really picture it unless its a burgendy/dark red... I would leave the sports car look to the sport cars... but like I said above... its your car... and if you really like it... GO FOR IT!!!

Besides... there aren't many red 1st Gens... or should I say... there aren't any...

Mixed reviews is what I wanted, but to make a rash statement that Red looks ugly on a four door family car is quite absurd... Look at how many red cars you see on the road... true there are more 2 doors in red than 4 doors, and it is a sportier look, but probably every auto manufacturer makes a 4 door red sedan... But anywho I'm not in the arguing mood. Thanks for all comments, for and against red.

Hi folks.
To me red is kind of outdated. Its not in style anymore. Nowadays its black for classy-ness and silver.
Painting the TL red is so turn off regardless of any shades.
However, if you were to put new front, read, and side body kits, witheye brows then painting it the legend color would be bad-ass. Somebody in my neigborhood put a skyline bodykit on his Vigor with the legend red with aftermarket rims looks so bad-ass. Thats just my opinion.

As promised, here's a red TL. Kind of a shitty job. I should have started on a dark colored car. But anyway, special thanks to the person this car belongs too. I can't remember which thread I stole it from.

Nice photoshop skills... Can you make it a bit darker??? maybe a burgendy... red needs to be dark to make it look classy IMHO... a bright red would be more NSX type...

Also depends on what you are into... our cars are semi-sporty... so if you are going for the whole sporty look with the racing rims etc... the NSX red would look cool... if you are looking to keeping it luxurious... burgendy would look cool...

This color is something that I a lot of Caddy's come in so it looks pretty luxurious to me.

The RL red looks great in the pic posted. That red might go a little better, IMHO.

If i were in the military i wouldn't mind that color scheme for my TL... would be pimp... especially if it looks like that...

When I graduate from college this winter and get my first real Job I am going to do every thing in my power to get that red RL. Of course I will keep my 96 TL. I say go for the red that is on that RL mabey add some pearl to it and put a candy layer on the top of it.
