How much time to swap an engine?
I called the dealership and they told me it would tak2 25 hours/$2725 to change the engine on a 97 3.2 TL. Does that sound right? I know I cant afford a dealership, but If it takes 25hours I cant even afford a shade tree
Has anyone actually done the swap? How much time does it really take(assuming you kinda know what you are doing)
Thanks

Hey I did a swap on 1996 acura 3.2 tl. The engine was $1500 out the door on ebay with 34,000 miles. I haven't had any major problems but it is a huge undertaking. It took me 2 months to do the swap. I was driving my neon while working on the Acura. This is just my opinion but if you don't have the money you may want to consider diy or getting another vechicle. Just depends on your situation.

If he can't afford a 3.2 swap, how is that answer helpful? Anyway, because of the longitudinal engine/front wheel drive design of these vehicles, some things that may be fairly simple on other vehicles become labor intensive. Your dealer's time estimate is probably pretty close and he has all the tools/equipment. I'm fairly proficient with cars and I doubt if I could beat that time.
