on the windows? after i wash the car, i clean the windows on the inside and out with Windex. not the knockoff stuff either, the good windex. then you can put rain-x on em if you want.
ps - i've heard that if you plan on having a crack/chip filled on your front windshield....if you put rain-x on it, they can't fill it. unsure why....maybe the filler won't stick? anyways...

windex is only bad if you clean the inside of your windows..not outside. What i use for the inside is i put vinegar and water in a spray bottle (more water than vinegar). shake it up and spray.
I also use vinegar to wipe down my windshield wipers. try it, you'd be amaze at how much crap i get off..

ack, yeah, not on tint. i meant on the outside. the inside, for tint, i use soap and water. that's what the tint guy back in the day told me to use...so that's what i use. nothing abrasive....

1 part vinegar, 10 parts water is the best solution for windows... not only does it get rid of wetspots, it also gets rid of haze. You can also use pure vinegar as Mandy said.
PS- Windex (even the real stuff), does indeed leave streaks even though they advertise streak free shine. Invisible Glass is great but won't get rid of haze and rarely gets rid of wetspots).
PPS- crumpled newspaper (as long as it's not the heavier/glossy stuff) is best for windows. You can also use these microfiber dish washing/multipurpose towels.

For really bad rain-spots (are you ready?) WAX. I USED to wax my windshield all the time, you'll never even need wipers on the highway!! Honestly, a lttle elbow grease and some wax will remove pretty much any water spots on a hard surface, including glass.
