HID upgrade.

Pic of my old HID's. (Philips D2R 4100K)

Here are the new ones. Philips Ultinon D2S 6000K

A nice crystal clean look.

The glare from my old HID's used to kill anyone in front of me. *the right side is the old one*

All done.

Do you have the H4 bulb sheild that provides a cutoff? If not have you thought about those?

yea.... the bulbs i have in there have an H4 adapter with a sheild... i already bought a pair of caspers about 2 months ago... they would clip in the housing.... like they fit in the hole..but the metel clip that you put over the bulb... the end of the casper sheild is too thick.. and therefore the clip doesnt go over so it could close.....i have a pair of caspers sheilds that i DO NOT WANT.. if anyone is interested in them...i'll sell them.. jus pm me or send an email... but like about a month ago.. i was on ebay.. browsing.....and i seen some guy was selling 6000k philips ultinon bulbs... that were machined rebased with H4 adapter and adapter sheild...... so i got them........ if you guys plan on gettin HID.. always get philips and no higher then 6000k.....

noRe456: how much did those cost you? And is it hard to find matching bulbs for the parking lights? So the adapter shield is used only for H.I.D. systems?

acurasnake: aiight lemme tell you.... the parking light bulbs i have... for the corners are PIAA hyper white...... as for the headlight... the HID system i had before was OEM 4100k... they had NO adapter or anything... i jus stuck the bulb in there..... since it didnt fit the housing..... the beam patter was horrible... i was blinding oncoming traffic...... and a WHOLE LOT OF YELLOW!!!.... about a few weeks ago... i was browsing ebay... and i found a pair of genuine philips 6000k bulbs..... they were made to filter out the yellowness........... they came wit the H4 adapter glued onto it... and the H4 sheild.. i'll show u pix on the bottomm.......those bulbs costs bout 150 for the pair... but lemme tell u.. they are worth it....the guy who i got it from.. he got it from HIDS4LESS.com.. but they are out of business now..... he sed they cost him 200 EACH.. so thatz... 400 for the pair...i was lucky to find these on ebay.. however.. i do have a pair of caspers shields.. and OEM D2R bulbs.. if anyone is interested!

here is the pix wit OEM 4100k.... VS.... 6000k..... notice the 6000k is better for reflector cuz it filters out the yellow light....

and here is the pic of the bulb i currently have....... u can see the H4 housing adapter... on the base of the bulb.. and the sheild is in the back... s0rry for the bad pic... the shield is behind the bulb.....

yea 982.5tl...... basically thats wut it is.... OEM HID kit...... and replaced the 4100k bulbs.... with a modified 6000k bulb.... if ur gonna get a kit.. make sure the bulbs are genuine PHILIPS...also.. i do not recommend anything higher then 6000k.... cuz u will loose alot of brightness.. its inversely related.... the higher color temperature....the less lumens... 4100k is the brightest.... but its not made for our reflectors.. and produces a yellowish light.... the 6000k ULTINON bulbs (the one i have) was designed for the purplish/bluish.... light.. when u first turn it on.... and den to a white light.... the bluish tint.. filters out the yellow...... if u have any questionss post them.... but beware.... PHILIPS 6000K ULTINON BULBS ARE ILLEGAL FOR ROAD USE IN THE US AND EUROPE....but i say.. ?*%$ what the law says.! :enforcer:
