Exclamation Hey everyone! Anyone know about door sills? Im taking orders!!

Hello guys.. I'm new to the forum and really glad to see this site. I was looknig for a good group of people to get some ideas and advice from. I have a 97 Acura TL 3.2 and I was wondering if there are lighted door sills for our car. i saw in previous post that you guys were taking orders or something is it too late. I know it's been a year or so but did any one get a set? Thanks for your help..

Nobody got anything. There is a company willing to do it (not lighted), but someone needs to ship them our door sills for measurements.

Here's the guy I was talking to:

Jeff Kuo
www.ap-signworks.com
www.evolution-autodesign.com
770-925-8740

He said if I sent him my sills to measure, he would send me a set at 1/2 price, and send my originals back too! I just can't live without my sills now (in the winter).

I would definitely be in...

Craig, Thanks for the info man.. that site has some cool accessories. I just emailed your contact Jeff Kuo about ordering a set. Thanks again! Should we see if there can be a discount for multiple orders? It looks like they have over stock so we should be able to get a good deal.

i think we had 10+ orders from before, so the price was something like 40 bucks for the four sills. might cost extra if you wanted fancy engravings on it.

I think the ones he has are for the G2... That's why he needs some G1 sills to measure. Let me know, because I'm definitely in.

go to the web site listed above. I am guessing all this guy needs is the exact measurments and depth to machine them. It looks from the site like he has already done lettering "Acura TL". From stuff I had done on my last two cars at other shops, I am guessing once he gets the measurments, we can get other colors or lettering??

okay here's the scoop.

I spoke with Jeff Kuo at www.evolution-autodesign.com

75.00 for a set of four. (standard)
Brushed aluminum finish with either Black or Dk Gray Lettering

65.00 if we placed an order of five or more.

<<<< EXTRAS >>>>

If you would like to cusomize them they also have:

Chrome or Black Chrome finishes for 20.00 extra
Various colors of lettering for 10.00
(he said color matching would be difficult unless he could see your car.. so keep it simple)

Let me know what you guys would like to do. I will be placing my order and anyone else who would like to join me on March 1st.
I'm sending him my door sills for measurement. It will take about 21/2 weeks to get it together.

mizer, I had emailed him before your last post asking about colors, he hit me back with the $65 price, but gave $85 as the regular price?
Surely we can get 5 people though.
Who is going with what? What would be better for sills brushed aluminum or crome? I am wonder wich will hold up and look better longer?

I think I'll go with chrome - it's pretty resiliant and it looks good.

ps
I want mine to say "pontiac sunfire" lol.

Oulaw: That's thae same info he gave me. I'm thinking the brushed aluminum will hide most of the wear and tear, but I was still thinking about going with the chrome.. I haven't made up my mind..

I don't think the chrome will get much wear and tear - unless you wear golf cleats in your car... Sure - it'll need to be wiped more often
