I was on my way to the San Diego races, with my friends. Racing with my friends crx that night and didn't lose that bad by one car. So when we were on our way to the races. Cars on the freeway started to race 6 all together. My friends integra Type R, my friend CRX, my 3.2 TL, Dodge neon R/T, Del Sol, and a ford mustang. The neon pulls right next to me, hitting me up. I downshifted to 3rd gear, pulled a way like a jet. Neon went up to race me again, this time I let him have a head start. Still win him, won him so bad that I couldn’t even see his head lights in my rear view. So here comes this nice Del Sol (He saw me took off on that neon), with all this HKS stickers all over it (I don't know what he has). So I changed lanes, right next to him. We both downshifted side to side at 100 mph I started to pull on him but not that bad (He loss by 5 cars). When we got the SD, at the first gas station. I heard some guys saying "Hey look it's that TL" the other guy "Yeah I know I got smoked by that ****". The only bad thing about that night was that my friend CRX had to be towed away. Hope you guys like the story

 

good kills man. i've spanked so many of those Neons it's just funny. i don't even know what's up with those guys. downshifting to 3rd at 100mph? is that so safe? hehe.

 

Yeah i know I thought that would **** your tranny up bad:p How did your friend's CRX get towed by the way? He get in a accident?

 

Neons, thats' funny. My friend has one, and man, they are so slow. He thinks it's all fast, so I raced him, and haha he now knows not to race me.

 

Downshifting at 100 mph yeah that will **** up your tranny. What I was saying was that I started to pull away from him when I hit 100 mph in 4th gear. My friend's CRX got towed away because he was racing and had no exhaust, just the headers (hahahaha), since he messed it up racing me. So we just took it off cause it was in the way (dragging on the ground).

the reason most people downshift is cause they have a turbo or supercharger... at low rpm's there useless but if you downshift you spool it up and get a major boost if they dont have wither of those then they prolly want to make there exhaust sound louder than it is...
