The FNG

Hey guys I have been checking things out for awhile, and finally decided to make an account. I have been thrilled with the DIY section. Been working on the car here and there. Do have a coupla questions. Trans filter change. Would it be ok to buy a wix filter or should it be OEM all the way? I want to keep this car just a little scared of the trans as I have heard a few things in here, so I want to keep it at its full potential to not die. Also is all the interior trim basically the same for all the 1st gen TL models? I want to change mine, but want to be able to change it back with OEM if i can.

1998 2.5 TL

I'd recommend using genuine Honda parts for these types of jobs.

And yes, interior trim should be the same on all 1st gen TLs. What are you looking to replace?

All woodgrain pieces are interchangeable between 3.2 and 2.5 TLs, although the 96 2.5TLs came with the black console and matching interior color window switches. Put up some pics when you are done. Welcome to the 1G TL community!

Yes it is, and how do you remove the door pieces that are usually wood grain?
I am scared that I may break them.

Pry the flap inside the pocket and you will see 1 screw. Remove that screw and pull the woodgrain assembly up and back. Disconnect the harness, and it should come out. I think there are 2 small screws that hold in the switch, and 4 small screws that holds the pocket. Undo the clips to remove the pocket afterwards. That should be it.
