Distrubutor Cap In 2.5 TL
Hi folks! Happy New Year to you all.
I have a quick question.
How do I change distributor cap in my 1997 2.5 TL? Looks like it's in a place that is very difficult, almost impossible, to get to.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah it's pretty much right up against the firewall right! If i remember right the guys at work use a wrench to get the bolts out and the pull it back as close to the firewall as you can then that should be it i think. I might be wrong.

It is kind of tight to get into. But I did mine a little while back. Took a couple of bloody knuckles but not impossible. The real problem is the rotor itself. I could not get that off to save my life(the screw was impossible to get to). I left it as is and just went with a new distributor cap.
Good luck with it.

Just unbolt the two 12mm bolts that hold the whole thing on.
One is on upper right corner and the other bolt is lower left behind metal shield while looking at front of engine from bumper.
Once the whole thing is removed you can replace the cap and rotor at ease.

I took of the battery shield and removed the battery to get more clearance...
