D4 Light is blinking.

Can someone help. I'm guessing its something to do with the tranny, but any insight would be great. Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure it means that there is some sort of transmission issue, which is why it is a good idea to make sure the on ein there works, but I have no idea what it actually means.

The d4 light is like a check engine light for the transmission. Have the code pulled off of the tcu.

I was going to say VSS. $300 to fix sounds a little steep though. You shoudl be able to replace the sensor yourslef. I'm not sure where it is on the TL but I think its held on by 2 10mm bolts and thats it. Check into it befoire you pay someone else 300 bucks to replace the thing. GOod luck.
