Talking custom/universal exhaust

For the sake of conversation, anyone have any opinions on univesrsal exhausts? Makes/styles? This forum has not had too much of great interest lately other than the Mugen spoiler stuff... of which I am still interested in finding more about...

I would think that a universal would do SOMETHING...perhaps not as much as a vehicle-specific....but at least it's lettin your engine get more air out. I would think that most sedans similar to ours would give similar low-tone sounds...but I could be wrong.

one thing i noticed is that the muffler is A LOT lighter. and i did feel an increase in performance with an addition of air filter. i believe we increased the opening to 80mm from 60.

I was thinking of going with an Hayame universal dual-tip exhaust. Anyone familiar with Hayame?

Also, if I want to add a custom intake. Who do I see to do the job? Exhaust shop?

yeah, my custom intake was down at the same exhaust/muffler shop as the one that did my exhaust
r u a 3.2 or a 2.5
cuz i believe the 3.2 is a lot easier to make an exhaust for... not really sure about the 2.5's

I have a '98 2.5. They quoted me $450-500 to set up the Hayame dual tip. Seem reasonable? Just don't want to get ripped off.

Probably can bring the price down, by asking a friend who gives them referrals.

Thanks for the 411.
