Crank Sensor ?
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS FLASHING CODES FOR MY CRANK SENSOR AND THEY HAVE TO REPLACE IT. CAN ONE OF YOU PLEASE TELL WHAT THE CRANK SENSOR IS AND IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING, IS IT SERIOUS? THE DEALER WASNT MUCH HLP ALL THEY KNEW WAS THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE IT. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

The crank sensor, is more then likely called a crankshaft position sensor(CKP), which monitors and determines timing for fuel injection and ignition of each cylinder, and also detects engine speeds. A crankshaft is the shaft in your engine that is connected to your connecting rods, which in turn is connected to your pistons.
