Coolant System

I have a '97 TL 2.5. It was operating below normal temperature so I changed the thermostat. After installing the new thermostat the heater is slow to function and the temperature gauge creeps higher near the top, but not overheating. Then the heater starts to work and the temperature gauge returns to the normal range. Any suggestions?

Is this an Acura thermostat or aftermarket?
I would stick with Acura/Honda thermostat.

Also, make sure the little hole/pin is positioned right, it should be on top side.

Search for service manual here, someone was kind enough to post a link to download the service manual.

I changed mine and did not have any problem.

Thanks. I did install the Acura theromstat with the hole/pin at the top (in the same position as the old one).

according to the service manual, there are two nipples to bleed the cooling system, but I only found one.
You can open up the radiator cap and message the top radiator hose, this will also take out bubble.
