CEL Flashing
Just purchased a 96 2.5TL a couple of weeks ago, 150k on the clock.
This afternoon before leaving for work I filled the car up with 87 octane (oops) not used to putting in premium even though this is the first time I've filled it up all the way with 87.
By the time I got to work ~ 30 miles right as I started to turn in my parking spot the CEL started flashing. I shut it off and turned the key back to II and it wasn't flashing then just solid.
Going to go by Autozone to have codes checked (solid CEL has been on but has ran fine). Was planning on doing a tune-up over the holidays. The car ran fine on the way to work no misses or anything. Had read on here about cleaning out the EGR soot, so I did that this morning and was alot of soot in there amazing that it was running previously as well as it was, ran alot better on the way to work except the CEL flashing on right before I turned it off.
Would this be flashing because of the 87 octane?
And if it is the misfire code, which brand has everyone had the best luck with?
Thanks will be back with more questions as the fixing up goes
