Car for Sale
I am going to keep this simple. Getting new car tired of problems with TL. It has new belts timing and all. Tune up, new axles and looks great. However, my heat only runs when the car is moving and the radiator exploded on Saturday and I am unsure how much damage is done to engine. Asking 3500 to 4,000 for it. Who wants it. My wife and I are picking up a Land Rover because I just can't see my soon to be delivered son riding in this car. Car for sale complete. I am in Statesville NC. feel free to email me @ tillman002000@yahoo.com. I will also check here. 1997 3.2 by the way.

This is to all who think a Land Rover is not reliable. The Land Rover, I bought today is a 2000 model is excellent. 70,000 miles with documented dealer maintenance. Furthermore, it is a whole heck of alot better than having heater, head gasket, shaky windows and the millions of other things that go wrong with the First Gen, TL. However, my 1997 2.2 CL is great no problems.

How do you know the land rover is realiable when you've not driven it for even a 1000 miles? For your car to be reliable, I think you have to take very good care of it. My first generation TL has 110K miles on it and I"m happy to say I've had no problems with it!

My TL has 207k, I am the first owner, I took care of it, always do regular maintanence.
Only majore problem I had was the cracked manifold.
these are good cars, I will buy another Acura in a heartbeat.

it's all about how you treat the car. i had a 90 beretta for 8 years. would still have it if not for someone running into me. now how many crappy berettas have you seen around? in fact, sold the car to my buddy in iowa...it's still running.
and for the most part, if taken care of even slightly, acuras/hondas are great cars. there are a few that get beat the hell out of, then sold to people like....me :P but i still think the TLs are damn good.

I had a 1994 Land Rover Range Rover Classic for about 180,000 Miles. Maintained it myself (as all my vehicles) Bought it hammered in the front with about 20K on it a year old.
One of the most reliable vehicles I've ever had overall.
It was totalled (a guyin an Audi A-4 t-boned it in front of the a pillar doing about 45. Spun it around and hit a van. Sustained front end damage but protected the occupant pretty darned well). Original Engine, Original Trans. Nothing on the engine work other than normal maintenance - with the exception of one water pump at like 140K.
The second gen Range Rovers are not reliable in general.
The latest ones are supposedly pretty darned good (BMW V-8 - runs very well)
Hmm.... Compare that to the second generation TL's.

Ford bought Rover just a few years ago. I think it was at the tail end of the second gen Range Rover. Regardless, BMW and Land Rover did all the design of the current Range Rover. The engine is a BMW 4 (or 4.5) liter engine from the 745 basically.
Land Rovers 4WD system is totally different than anything Ford has (I'm a Ford fan as well, and have a few in my stable). You would have thought that Ford would have started to put the drivetrain in the Expedition, but have not seen that.
Now, Ford does have a pretty nice independent rear suspension setup for the money. No doubt about that. And they are a great bang for the buck. The other thing is that you can seat many more people (and gear) in the Expedition.
