Question Belt Replacement

I have a 98 3.2 and I need to replace the middle belt, I can see that it is chafed. Anybody's done this? Any DIY?

Thanks in advance.

Belt Replacment

Hey,

I just got all the belts replaced on my 97 2.5 TL. It cost 155 bux in all. about 60 of that was just the belts. I would reccomend having it done by a pro. My tech friend and I looked at and decided we would have to remove the elec fan to get access to all the tensioners. Also if you do DIY then look at your alternator brushes when your in there.

Middle Belt 3.2

I am not sure if it is the Alternator, I will check my Manual. I think it is the starter loop. The alternator is the 1st belt. The 3rd is the compressor.

I will confirm.

Thanks.

There is absolutely no need to be a professional to replace the accessory belts. You don't have to remove anything to get to the tensioners. One you have to get under the car to loosen but the rest are pretty easy if you have some idea of what you're doing. I replaced all three on my 2.5 in about 25 minutes with some delays and bought all three straight from the dealership for about $40.
