Guys,
I got my free emissions tune up done today and asked them to check the whole exhaust system since it was getting really loud. Here the guy comes out with a $360 quote for the B pipe+2 gaskets. He said that its all rusted. I checked it out when I got home and there was a hole from rust and the joint towards the front side of the car was leaking. I already fixed the small hole with some good stuff from autozone.
My question is that if any of you guys ever welded the exhuast joints and if you did, how long did it last?

I haven't done any welding, but I did have my muffler & pipe replaced. It was $290 at a local (not dealer) shop. I had to have it done because I backed into a 18 inch high brick wall. It busted some holes in the pipe on the side towards the motor. The holes were where it rusted.

It was hopeless to weld it. Just too much rust. I stopped by monroe muffler and they are able to get me that piece for $175. Gonna have to bite the bullet and shell out the dough.

u could seal the joint temporarily with some of the sealant stuff found at local auto store?
