Anyone replace their own axel?
Hi folks,
When I make a turn, it makes a clicking noise.
I checked the CV boot and it was torn thus needs to be replace.
I want to replace the whole axle instead of just the CV boot.
Anyone did this by themself before? How hard is it? Can you give step by step instructions? Thanks.

well, i wanted to do it myself.. but i couldn't take the spindle nut off.. and that's the first step..
so found a mechanic who did it for $75(just labor).. i gave him the axle assembly..
took him 30 mins..
but he went pretty hard after it.. had to get a sledgehammer.. plus he had an impact wrench..
i guess that's no help.. sorry..

Yeah, the clicking noise is def the cv axle worn out... no biggie but should be replaced soon. Anybody with a Jack, jack stands, and tool set can do it, but to get the spindle nut off you might need an impact.
