I got 2 questionz ..

is it bad shifting from D4 to D3 during driving to go up hill ?

is D4 used for normal driving?

 

The transmissions are the weakest part of the 1st gen tl they dont like being shifted.. The only time id suggest using d3 is when your shit is shifting up and down and you are right in the middle of the shift point. This prevents it from getting hot from shifting so much due to the load right at the shift point..

no, 2 is used for normal driving, for more power on the freeway, shift into 1

 

Just stay in D4. If you have to ask, leave it alone.

Alright Balki, you are whats called on most forums a Trial User.. Id assume if you continue to annoy members on this forum asking simple minded questions that we already tell you the answer, and posting pictures of your academic team and yourself in a car forum, that in a short period of time, you will be beamed back to Mepos, the pep ralley, or some other spot..


Im not whining, I just find it extremely annoying when you send private messages.. 1. the d4 light routinely goes out. our cars are pushing 10 years old. And anytime you drive the car, that little filiment in that one bulb is on. so it blows out. If its an issue, buy a new one at acura for 1.00

2. Use premium gas only. If it was designed to run 87, the japanese dudes would have not spent thousands of dollars to write that shit on the gauge face.

So before you try asking a bunch of questions if you plan on continuing to be a member of the forum, select the SEARCH option on top of this page, third link from the left. then search archived posts, in the 1st gen tl forum, for CD player, or SLOW WINDOWS, or O2 sensor and bad gas milage.. cause i can already forsee what we are getting into with the addition of you to our forum.
