Red face AC Compressor

Hi,

I've taken my My Acura 2.5TL (96 model) to the dealer for regular maintanence and it turns out that my AC compressor is siezed!!
They tell me it costs about c$2500 !! to replace the compressor, pulleys etc. I don't even know how this could've happened!!

Can anyone please let me know is there any way i could get the compressor from anywhere else? Any other options?

Thanks
Anbu

Low battery/almost dead battery or low refridgant. That would kill your compressor.

do you even know what youre talking about????

most likely, you never really used your AC. you have to use your AC at least once a week for about 10-15 min...that way, the compressor gets lubricated by the AC oil and thereby preventing it from seizing up.

Once in a while a compressor shows up on ebay.

What kills a compressor? A leak. The refrigerant has oil in it. When the R-12 or R134a is gone, so the the lubricant.
