99+ tl bose head unit in 1st gen tl

sup guys,

i posted this thread but think i clicked the worng button so i dont think it went through, forgive me if it did.

i love the stock stereo in the 1st gen tl, especially the center channel created by the mids near the front maplights. However, the "fm" button on mine is jammed (pushed all the way in) and thus fm radio doesn't work. Was wondering wheter i could get a acura bose headunit and put in my 96 3.2tl, in an effort ot fix the problem and maybe improve the clarity of the sound. Would this work. If it did would it screw up the sound and mess with the center channel effect. Would it sound better. I dont know much when it comes to stereos and I would really appreacite it if someone could give me some feedback on this.

BTW, since some of the guys here a honda/acura gurus, iwas wondering if someone could tell me if a 1st gen head unit like in our cars would fit in a 94 accord coupe (wondering what to do with my old headunit if I end up replacing it and my accord could definetely use something other than the CRAPPY stock stereo).

Once again thanks a lot, and this forum is AWESOME

A 2nd generation headunit is shaped differently. Its not a double-din unfortunately. Its shaped to the console

However.. you CAN put the 1st generation TL's stereo in an Accord. I believe '94 to '02 Accords will take it just fine.

And yes, even if you did fit that 2nd generation TL stereo in your car, you'd lose the center channel. Your best bet is a 1st gen head unit.
