97 3.2 TL Questions...
Ok, I know there are a ton of threads talking about springs/struts etc, but I might be getting a decent bonus from work and would like to totally clarify before I go making a large purchase like this (anything over 200 bucks is a large purchase to this guy
I've come to the conclusion that I dont want coilovers, too much money, and too much for what I'm looking for. I'm just looking for a tighter handling TL. I drive it pretty hard, and I love taking corners fast, but I cant really with the stock setup (stock susp and stock tires, planning on getting some Konig Gun Metal "holes," 17" with 215/50/17's after tax season next year).
I live in ND and the roads/winters here are crap, so I didnt want an aggressive drop (which is why I had my eyes on the Prokit). And for under 280 I can have a prokit shipped to me from Procarparts.com. I think if I did get some 17's next year, that would look good with the subtle drop as long as I got the right size tires. Now, I know I'd need some new struts soon after that as well...this is where I get confused as there are so many choices. Can anyone recommend a good, but not too expensive setup for all 4 new struts to go with the Prokit? or maybe I'm off and should get different springs as well. I have the option of possibly installing these with my buddy at the autobody shop he works at, but I dont know how hard it would be. I'm also looking to possibly get some new breaks (calipers, rotors, and pads?). Sorry if this is a redundant thread, I just wanted to start over with it. Thanks guys
p.s. I'm trying to order a new dead pedal from acuraautomotiveparts.com, and it didnt cost enough for an order...so i was going to try to order a shiftgate from an RL...does anyone have any idea how I would find that on that site, i'm having a hell of a time, or does anyone know the part number?
