I hate to kinda double post but it's just been one thing after the other with my TL, and the problem I'm having now is seemingly unrelated to my original topic over in the "Problems & Fixes" forum (started a few weeks ago)... so I'm posting here too because it looks like this forum gets a little more attention.

My last post in the original thread, https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...0#post13540909, describes my current problem, but I'll try to elaborate here.

The disc (or pulley) closest to the firewall, sharing the same belt as the alternator, is really loose. My battery and ABS lights came on so I opened up the hood and noticed it wasn't spinning. Upon further inspection the pulley/disc was very "wobbly" and I could move it in pretty much all directions with my hand. It seems to be in the shape of a ring; I could put my finger through it near the edge.

Any ideas what would have caused this? And is it easy/expensive to fix?

Are you talking about the crankshaft pulley?

This is the harmonic balancer.
I had the same problem, the pulley was coming apart. I had to get a new one from the dealer.
You may find a used or after market product. The after market pulley is almost as expensive as the dealer ones.
