I am looking to buy a "new" car pretty soon, and have decided to go with acura. 96 tl's without the premium package, and around 70,000 miles look to be around 12 grand, and fully loaded legends with fewer miles look to be around the same. The tl looks more modern and sporty, but the legend's interior seems to be better, and it is fully loaded (more comparable to an rl it seems). Is there a clear cut winner here? I'm basically looking for a good looking car with good performance, and don't plan to go nuts with any performance mods (nothing more than an intake). I really like the tl, but it seems more basic than the legend, and I haven't seen too much internet stuff on it besides this page, cardomain, a couple of reviews and honda-acura.net - anything else? Thanks in advance

 

ok if you can find a low milage legend coupe then i'd definately go with the legend. it's such a beautiful car.

I really like the legends too. A few of my friends have them and they are nice. I would get a TL though. I just bought a 96 TL and I love it. Your right, they are more sportier than legends.

i think a 3.2 premium 1st gen tl is better that a legend, but if you are gonna do the 2.5tl i say go with the legend instead.

 

When I was lookin for a car I was faced with the same thing. The Legend is what it is {A LEGEND} now, and the car still looks good. In the right color and rims, you are big boy still in a Legend. If you can find THE GS model with the 230hp six speed, you'd be crazy not to get it, especially with descent miles. I could not find a Legend with low enough miles, thats the reason I decided opn the TL.
The TL holds it down tho, still catchin stairs, breakin necks. Either car is a good choice
