1998 Acura TL 3.2L. Power Steering Parts
Hey all, thank you for reading.
My '98 TL is currently in the shop at the dealership, with a power steering parts replacement issue.
They called me this morning to tell me that they don't have a part and it's discontinued, and they can't find one. I need a Power Steering Cooler. I'm sure if they had the time to look for one they could find it, but that work is now left up to me.
I believe the part number is 53765-SZ5-020 (Replaces 53765-SZ5-000, 53765-SZ5-010)
Firstly, I need to know if either of those three part numbers will work if I can find it. Also, I need to know the best place to find one. I'm not trying to find a random power steering cooler, that also fits other cars (which I'm sure is not recommended), I'm looking for this specific part for my '98 TL.
Is there any hope for me? I might have found the part in Iowa (I'm in Ohio), but it says it's the 53765-SZ5-010.

My god you must love throwing good money after bad if you took your 26 year old car to the dealer... At this point in time, I think your best bet would be to find a pick a part/junkyard near by because I don't even see the part on ebay

Are you able to answer my question about the part I found in Iowa?

Thank you, ThoiBoi and zeta for your help/advice.
I am looking to Amayama, they said they had to run a confirmation before I can actually order it, and that process is happening now. It turns out the place I thought had the 010 part, doesn't actually have it, and I'm glad that I called to be sure before placing the order.
I'll make a decision from here, and decide what it's worth, and will take some time to call some of the Junk/Part yards in the state in the mean time, and see if I can possibly have a friend get it to me somehow.

Good luck! For what it's worth.. i'm an OEM snob as well but for this particular piece, it's not a true "cooler" per se, it's really just a length of tubing that runs in front of the radiator and when you're driving it's blowing cool air over the tubing thus cooling it.. I couldn't find any aftermarket alternatives on rockauto and the like but just wanted to throw that out there as food for thought.

Yeah, I took a good long look at the part, I understand what it's supposed to do. I looked at alternatives, but my biggest issue is the fit. I know my car is old, but it's still under 140k. I've had it since 2015, and I got it with ~78k. I hope to have it a while longer, while I build up cash for another one (my "dream" car is an FJ Cruiser). This is a short term hit that I can recover from, since I'm single and childless and my rent is cheap. There are a few other things that need fixed, but they are mostly cosmetic, and things I'm willing to let smaller shops do if I can't do it myself. The power steering tube wasn't the only issue, it was pretty much the whole PS system.

Amayama might be your best options if that's the case..
