I had a Magnaflow once. I love the sound of it but it was too loud and the drone was just a nightmare. So I took it off, and need to find a way to quite it down a bit. I'm thinking about putting on a 18'' Magnaflow resonator or 32'' round muffler, hope to quite it down

Yup you will get drone with Remus and any other type exhaust. You need some sort of variable muffler whether it be mechanical or electronic.
The 2002+ RL's have a variable muffler. (Mechanical) That's in part where the extra hp came from.
Beamers have an electronicly controlled vairable muffler. Wish I could set something like this up.
