transmission fluid how much is needed

i am going to replace the transmission fluid but the owner's manuel doesn't have the number of bottles needed. my friend told me three and a half quarts but i want to be sure. please advise. thanks.

It's about 3 quarts. I usually jack the car up on the let side just to get a little more out when draining. There's a total of 9 quarts in there, so when you "drain and fill" you're only replacing 3 quarts of the 9. When I first got my '97, I drained and filled, then drove it hard, then drained and filled one more time. It was amazing how much smoother it shifted afterwards...especially 1st-2nd. Use Honda ATF, it's cheaper than Acura, but obviously the same exact stuff.
