Angry is the rl considered a sports car?

Because my insurance seems to think so. When I bought it, I figured the insurance would be cheap because its a sedan, but when I took it to get insured, they told me it was considered a sports car, WTF???!!!???

I'd check with other insurance companies and ask for quotes. When I traded my 2006 Mazda for a 2006 RL, my insurance went up $10/year with Travelers.

In no way is the Rl a sports car. You need to find another insurance company.

When I bought my 05 RL in May of 05 my insurance company said it was a high performance sedan. I switched to Geico that same day. I saved over $300 per year switching to Geico on my RL.

A nearly 4000 pound FWD car CANNOT be considered a sports car.

sorry dude, but that thread title made me

also your insurance is high suave619 because you're still 22 and probably not married guy right? normally, this might be a myth, but at age 25 a guy's insurance rates starts to go down.

Well i have AAA insurance, and from what im told, its a good insurance so thats why i kept it. Iwas however able to find a loophole, since im insured with my parents. As of right now im paying $135 a month for 9 months. but when i was going to be insured by my self, they said it would be $3650, or about $405 a month at 9 months, my car payment is only $370!!!!! im not married a tthis point but if my insurance and taxes go down, i might as well.....

I feel for you young guys having to pay high insurance costs. But on the other hand, I did too when I was your age. My only advice is, shop around for insurance. Get several quotes, then decide.

$960/yr on a 2005 RL

I just bought a 2005 RL and Liberty Mutual wants $960/yr for my car. Yes, I am using it for my commute but my commute is only 10 miles each way. I have no accidents ever. I did say that it sounded high but she said something about it being a "performance car". My wife is call American Express Assurance to compare rates.
