Please help identify this part

This is a 99 RL. I was changing my oil the other day when I noticed something detached from around the suspension. I am not sure what it is and don’t know if it poses any safety concern. Can someone please identify the detached piece from the picture and tell me what I need to do?
(Sorry, I don't know how to post image directly to the forum)

Thanks for the reply. I will start looking for instructions and video on how to replace that. If anyone have any suggestions, please share it.

Get that replaced ASAP. It will make your car unstable during harder maneuvering.

Check out this link for the service manual.

I have already ordered a pair of moog sway bar links. I am still deciding whether to do it myself or have an independent repair shop do it for me.

Should be an easy fix depending on what tools you have and if you can get your car up on a lift. What part of the country are you in? Im used to seeing no rust on the bottom of my RL. Salt and rain makes a huge difference to the underside.

I've done this on my 03 MDX twice. Be prepared to hack saw the bolts off. The moog parts I used the first time only lasted 40K miles or so. I replaced them with OEM. Good luck.

I'm thinking I may not have all the necessary tool to tackle this job. I have been calling independent repair shops. Estimates are ranging from $75 to $130. Repair time ranging from three quarter of an hour to an hour 10min.

Sorry to hear about your failed Moog part. Since Moog has limited lifetime warranty, did you file a claim?
