Panel lighting

Does anyone know if there is a light in the shift bezel on the 99 and 00 RL's?
That area is very dark, and it looks like it should be lit.

Thanks,

Hello. New question on an old subject. Is the switchlight on the rear window defroster lit? I'm still trying to "clean-up" little details on my RL. If it is, I probably need a new switchlight. Are there any "tricks" to replacing it?
Thanks.

The rear window defogger switch does light up when selected. It has two bulbs in it according to the information I found. You "carefully pry switch from instrument panel and unplug the switch. Then turn socket 45 degree's counter-clockwise to remove bulbs. That is "assuming" it's just burned out bulbs. If the rear window defogger system doesn't work that would cause the lamp not to light when selected and that would be another problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks, 2000 RL. I will eventually buy some manuals for it. I would think that there are great similarities with the 99-00 cars.

Thanks for your help and advice. I love the car.

I love my 2000RL too! Bought it from my brother last March with 78,000 miles on it. I had been driving my 85 RX-7 for the past 15 years and this is quite a change for me (heated seats, cup holders, automatic transmission etc.) I have never owned a new car (or one that wasn't at least 10 y/o old) so it's like a new car for me. Been fixing little things my brother neglected but it's in pretty cherry shape. Hope you enjoy your's as much as I do mine Mad Dog.

I love my 99'RL I've had it about 3 months now but one issue that i have with it is the Gauge Cluster has most of the lights out on it. My question is Can I replace those bulbs and if so will the color bulbs be the actual color showing or is the custer already that orangeish white color...
