A new idea to play with in the pursuit of Hellaflushness
So i was looking at the repair manual today, specifically at the rear brakes.
I thought, why not ditch the disk/drum combination, and just go with disk and ditch the parking brake since our cars are automatics anyway, there shouldnt be too much issue since the transmission locks the wheels in place. you could replace the disk/drum combo for a brake disk that protrudes less from the wheel hub, therefore allowing lower offsets to be run on our RLs
The only questions i have is would you need to replace the spindle and/or wheel bearing for a shorter length one and if this would cause any MILs ot DTCs...
It was just a thought, a little theory that i thought up while sitting in my auto tech class... lolz

hate to rain on your parade but...
you'd need to either make yourself a shorter set of hub/bearing units or rear spindles. a shorter bearing wouldn't help on its own and would probably just cause more stress on the bearing (quicker failure)
To be fair, if you have enough time and/or money anything's possible. but I wouldn't want to go without my emergency brake. It means less stress on my old, tired transmission and actually being able to stop if my real brakes go out.

I don't think you can even legally pass inspection without a properly working e-brake, it's one of those few things I don't recommend ever removing, it is there and it actually has a purpose, specially if you ever park uphill.
