NAV issues

OK my battery went dead as I posted in a previous thread which reset my nav and stereo. The guy I took it to at tuffy fixed the problem with the stereo. He couldnt fix the nav which sux. So i took it to my local Acura dealer to fix the problem. He said the nav unit was old and was dead, and that I needed a new replacement one. He wanted to charge me $2,500 for the same old boring unit. I said Ill wait and save up. I then got to thinking and thought maybe I can get a Double Din DVD/Nav combo unit to fill the hole where nav should be. Is this possible to do? What all would this route take? I found a unit for $1,000 and my stereo guy tells me its not too hard to do an install like that. Here is the unit link.

you should check out the pioneer z1. I have it in my RL, damn glad I bought it, it has everything ,also you can load all your cd music ,holds about 3000 songs check it out - it costs about 1800.00 but its well worth it.On another note I have a quick question for you did you have any problem with your venom injection plug install ,my plugs fit but the electrical connections dont.they gave me part #hp610-257-6 they said those would fit my 99 RL any input would help. Thanks

I dont mess with too much i my engine. I gave the car to my brother before i went to Iraq to borrow and he handeled having the mechanic do all that. That was just easier so I didnt need the car while it was getting worked on. I am posative it has all that stuff on it because it is way quicker and sounds better, and there is way more low prm torque which helps with the sluggish take off. It was almost like eliminating turbo lag, only there isnt a turbo on it.
