My daily driver "Big Green"

THis is my daily driver "Big Green". It is not a show car by any means, but it dose have a few custom things done. It goes 25 miles every day through farmland so it is almost always covered in a thin layer of dust. It's uber reliable, and has never let me down. I beat on this car a little, and it just takes it. So far I repainted the engine cover, re did the insturment cluster bulbs, added clear corners, put alot of bang into the trunk with 2 Audiobahn 12" subs, and an amp that is giving them both 2k watte each. The subs hit so hard they blew off the audiobahn name in the center of the subs. The windows got tinted dark also. I also got rid of all the gold trim on the car. The grille was gold, emblems, rear license plate trim, and all that's left is the wheel center caps. I am getting a new fiberglass sub box built soon. I also want to add some 19" Gianille rims soon. It looks good for having almost 130K miles on it. What do you think?

Clear corners

The engine cover

insturments

Outside in the sun. It had dark tints. and mean tires.

Chillin with the Audi

Subs

Nav

I know it's not anywhere close to GSARL's and Maxpowerintegra's rides on the coolness factor, but it ain't bad for a daily driver with 130K miles.

It's a real pain to get a decent pic of that color. It' green in sun in person, but always looks black on film.

Are you interested in buying the silver wheel center caps? I have the 4 from the 96 wheels.... Don't know if they'd fit... seamusnh@gmail.com

I am not really looking for the center caps. These are going to be my winter wheels as soon as I get the rims I want. Here the winter road salt really tears up wheels anywhays. You can barely tell that they were ever gold. Thanks for asking though.

They call it Vermont Green, but it looks like hunter green with a nice fleck to me. It looks black in some lite, and green when it's nice out.

Big Green,
What year is your RL? Is that the stock green paint for that year? My 96 was green and it did look black as well in the shade...
When I got my RL back in 96, I bought an extra set of stock wheels on ebay and ran snows in the winter. Made a big difference here in New Hampshire. I have two sets of the stock factory wheels that I want to sell if you know anyone who needs wheels ($200 each set).

Jimmay I love the responses. In the clear corner I used a connection I had to get them in from Japan. THe shipping was $150 for them and they ran me $525 for the pair. They are unused headlight units from a Honda Legend in Japan. It's how they come there. I had to fabricate mounts to make my stock blinkers fit. There is a hole in them since in Japan they use a day time running lite. I made a metal plug for them, but am trying to get a harness to make a Bi-Xenon low beam setup, but if I end up not getting that to work I will just use a strobe, or green LED just to make it look different. If you want to find some clear cornere do an Ebay search for "KA9" and you should find some. There are a few pairs for the pre 1999 Honda Legend. It may take some fabricating, but it will be worth it, and they will look sick. I really like the way mine look.

Here is a link for 96-98 RL's. I am not the seller, but I think they should work and look sick for a 96-98. I wish mine were that cheap!

I got good news and bad news now. Good news is I got the funds set aside to get the rims&tires I want. The bad news is that my little brother will be borrowing my RL til November so he can drive down to FLA from OH to go to school. I need help deciding the rims to get for the car though. I just can't make up my mind. Here are some pics of possibilities that I can do.

DBLG 19" full faced

DBLG 19" split 5 spoke

19" Dub shoreline

19" TSW

My fav is the 19" DBLG 5 star split design. In the mean time I will be fine and will still have some nice whips to drive. I will be in the Tahoe 2dr the most, but you may see me in the Audi A8. I will miss my Acura since that little V6 sips fuel compared to the V8 in the Chevy, and the Audi. The Chevy gets about 7mpg, and the audi gets about 15mpg. Here are some pics of them.

The Audi A8 chillin. 350Hp AWD, it's like a Porsche sedan.

My old Chevy. it's really a 1992 K5 Blazer converted to a 1995 and up 2dr Tahoe. It has a 350 under the hood and I steped it up. It has 300hp at the pavement, and melts those big tires easily.

Tell me what you think about those rims. Help me make up my mind on those rims please. I am open to sugestions also. Thanks for the comments, and support. Hopefully I will get it back and in new rims by thanksgiving this year.

thanks for the link. I was hoping that it was just a mod...as i just bought my books for school...and they where just a little pricey. I like the last rims.. the 19 inch TSW's. Im not a very big fan of bling....especially on the RL's but what every floats your boat.

big green, dont go with any of those wheels your regret your decision after 6 months. Ames are really nice but fit better on a lexus GS. you need a 5 spoke semi full face finish. Go with some 3 piece wheels. save until you have atleast 3 gs and then pm me. i have a serious hook up from japan.

I haven't seen my RL in a while. It's still in FL while I am in OH. In the mean time I may be going back to Iraq. With all the advances with the new TL and RL about to come out I may just keep it stock and get a new Acura when I get back, and continue to use the old one as a daily driver. I hope to get my car back from my bro around X-mas if all goes well. The Audi is fun, but I just miss my RL. The Audi is less forgiving with a much harsher ride. The Audi nav sucks, the lites are not auto, and the heated seats suck(it's 23 degrees here). The only thing keeping me sane is that V8 under the hood. Smoking stangs is fun.
