Lowering Springs~ H&R/AP springs

Hello all,

I had a quick question to all of you guys, has anybody used the Honda Legend H&R Lowering Springs 29844-2 or the AP Springs FS50-043 for their ride and if so was it a perfect fit? How did they handle?

Don't forget that you will probably need to fit some shocks with that. Lowering springs on stock shocks tends to blow them out, especially with a heavy car like the RL.

This setup vs Tein new street basis. Which one is better? I might get one soon, but still undecided with shock or coilover.

im on H&R springs, they are good but just not enough low for me so i will be getting the street basis or street basis advance(dampening adjustable) by the end of the summer.

the springs will help maintain a more luxury ride, while coilovers will go still as hell so you can go really agressive or just dump it.
its really about the future of the car.

another note is that with the springs you dont nessisarily need to buy a camber kit, because the drop is only 1.25" and the wheels dont camber out ridiculously but with coils your gonna be looking at atleast 3-350 for front and rear camber kits

Oh ok. I will get the Tein then but I've planned to drop around ~1.75". So I need both the camber kit right?

Are the teins a direct fit or are they going to need to be modified to fit the RL.?

I believe it is a direct fit. You only need a spacer for the rear.

No camber kit on my first 3.5RL and it maintained luxury ride quality on my K-Sport coilovers. And only using a front camber kit on my second 3.5RL and the same coil overs. The coilovers were WELL worth the money after the 3 1/2 years of torture I've put them through on St. Louis streets.

I'd rather buy a setup that is matched up from the factory rather than mix and match a setup, but that's my person opinion.

To clarify, I'm not slammed anymore either. The first car was tucking tires more than you'd expect... current set up, pretty much only the top tread is being tucked and rides great.

old setup...

Actually the Tein Street Basis coilovers ride great - no , the only issue that ive experienced is some squeaking coming from them. The problem that i had was that the rubber that goes in between the top hat and the tein top plate made squeaks as it would rub, the solution was to just grease the rubber and viola the squeaking was gone. Before you dump the car do as most of us have done just lower it to tuck the top part of the tire - the result is very nice to look at, and the car doesnt not get stuck over speedbumps or scrape anywhere.
