Green key light won't blink or even turn on

When I put the key the green light does not turn telling me that it recognize the key. In turn the security system turn on and shuts off fuel supply to car so it wont start. Had key replaced and it seemed to work fine, but its doing the same thing again. Can I disable the security feature that shuts fuel system off? Or what do I replace the immobilizer

Why did you originally have a new key made? Where did you have the key made?

Key was made at lock smith not dealer ship. Does key have a chip or code.? Does not look like a chip is in key.

The key that came with your car originally has a chip in it that is coded to the immobilizer unit that is installed in your car. When your car was new it came with two black master keys, one gray valet key and a red "learning" key that came in a blister pack. The red key is used by the dealer in case of a lost or damaged key to code a new key to the immobilizer that is installed in your car. If you do not have the red key the dealer can't make you a new key coded to your immobilizer, then you have to have your immobilizer replaced with a new key coded to it. You can Google key-coding and there are locksmiths and online businesses that program keys so I would call around to local locksmiths in you area to find out.

There also is a ring around ignition switch, that might not be reading the chip! So if key does have chip then replace that ring, cheap on eBay or salvage yard!!
