Gauge cluster swap questions

I have a 97 RL premium, (w/nav & TCS)

my gauges went out and i found a set from a '02 with similar millage.

new cluster installed and everything is working but i have two small issues:

#1 The VSA light is on like 50-70% of the time. comes on right after start and stays on for the duration of that trip. (car does not have VSA as it was not an option, any ideas on a mod to make that light stay off and have tcs continue to work like factory?

#2 The brake lamp out indicator is on all the time on the new cluster. replaced the brake bulbs and even plugged old cluster in to confirm and it IS just the new cluster that shows the light.

For both issues i could just remove the bulbs and forget about it however i would rather fix or mod to make it "work".

I think your only option is to take out the bulbs and be done with it. You swapped in a cluster from a different revision RL that probably isn't 100% compatible with one another. The VSA is a great example. Your car doesn't have it, but you took the cluster from a car that does. I'm sure there are other little nuances that make things not work 100% correctly.

he is right, only 96-99, and some 2000 gauge clusters were 100% compatible
