Some of the alarm sensors tend to go bad and then trigger the alarm system constantly. But if you're alarm is being triggered when the car is unlocked then it might be the actual alarm system, cause that shouldn't happen.

Sorry for the delay domino.
Not sure where the alarm system is, but you can check the error codes to find out what part is causing a problem. Most mechanics should be able to do this, and of course the dealer too.

Thanks for taking the time thrillhouse.
I will be going out of the country this w/e.
I will disconnect the battery , to prevent it from coming on.
It did not do anything the last 2 days.I thought it was fixed by itself. But then it started again at lunch and has done it several times since.
I have been disarming by hitting the open door button on the remote.
It comes back within 5 mins 3-5 times.then stop altogether until the next time...

Do you live in a wet/damp climate? Is your car parked outside? If so you may have water intrusion from bad windshield pillar seals affecting your underdash connectors and drivers multiplex unit. It is a well known problem with first gen RL's. A TSB was issued for this problem in September of 1998 and again in October of 2001. The TSB is B98-028. I have a .pdf file of this TSB, if you send me an e-mail I will forward it to you. Happy New Year AcuraZine Community members.
