Engine mount
I got timing belt/wp replaced and mechanic said both front engine mounts are bad and collapsed onto high pressure hose.Wondering if that makes sense and what brand mount should I get.I only found aftermarket from GT Performance and MTC..which brand is better? And will collapsed mount mess up pressure hose and make it leak?

I believe the oem mounts are out of production. You would have to find nos if you want oem. They're really expensive.
I'd love to check my mounts. Anyone have any photos?

Yes. Can you put the car on ramps and see/touch the mounts and diagnose their condition without disassembly beyond splash shields? The engine compartment is packed, I don't even know where they are. On my CR-V I can look in there and see everything.

If I remember correctly, they are both behind the CV axles. No disassembly required. Little hard to see, but you can see them. On the right side its next to the back of the diff. Left side if I remember has its own little area that bolts to the subframe.

Thanks. That's on my list to do. I have ramps, heavy duty jack stands, but I also just learned that one of my sons friends dad just purchased a lift/hoist so that's pretty awesome. I want look at the transmission mount too and that appears to be hidden.
And to the thread topic it appears the only readily available engine mounts are from the aftermarket?
Bostech by GT you are referring to these:

Cool! This car would be so much easier to work on with a lift. You have to take the cat and the heat shield behind it out to get to the trans mount. Shouldn't be too bad if the nuts on the rear flange haven't turned into dust. Used a MAP torch when I did mine and removed it without much trouble. Seems that aftermarket is all that is left. Maybe try to find nos mounts from Japan or Europe? They were better supported in Japan at least and they sold very little in Europe with exception of Russia and Poland. Aftermarket active mounts tend to be a crapshoot.

I purchased those same aftermarket mounts I believe, a few months ago and finally got to removing my old one last night. I should've opened the new ones up soon as I received them to at least see what they sent.
They are not vacuum mounts like the stock ones, they're just solid rubber mounts.
I don't know how much thatll affect the comfort or ride and/or how long they will last, but my stock ones dont seem too bad and the vacuum bladder isn't torn yet so i might just leave them for now. Has anyone used the aftermarkets with good or bad results?
