DIY 03-04 Taillights on a 96-98
Ok, I'm planning to write a DIY for this but it is not finish yet so I will save it for later lol. Well today i had some time left before it turns dark, I decided to swap out my old taillight for 04 taillight. I thought it was going to be an easy job, but it turned out to be very complicated task. On a scale to 5, I'll give it 4.5. I had to do a lots of drilling and grinding for this sh't. After 2hrs, i threw in the white flag. I was to tired so I'll save this project later when I got a day off As you can see from the pic below, with just only the taillight it really gives the car a fresh or up to date look I hope I'll finish this before school starts in 3weeks!
My old smoked out amber taillight.

Yes! Another 3hrs to work on the car and I finally made it lol. I got the taillight on and the trunk finally closed with a little force. The 04 taillight clearly larger then the 96-98 taillight, so it leaves a 1" gap between the rear bumper and rear quarter panel. You can see the gap in the pics below.

Another view of the gap.

I used the blue painter tape as a guide line for the exterior body molding, which I plan to use to cover the gap up. I can cut the bumper so it can minimize the gap but I choose not to. I think I'll use the chrome exterior molding trim and paint it black so it matches with the paint. Overall, I think it came out great. Now I just need the driver taillight and it done, yay
