Given the same parameters - mileage, cost, condition, what would you rather have - 03/04 RL or 99/00 LS400? Pros/Cons if you have owned both vehicles. I have owned a 02 Rl before wondering if I should try a 00 LS400. I know this is an Acura site, but try to be less biased if possible.

I will add, I dont have any idea of reliability/maintenance for a LS400. Looking for some opinions.

Do not buy an LS400 if you live in snowy climate, I have owned one even with snow tires + sandbags its very tricky to drive.

 

Good point. I don't live in a snowy climate area, more rainy, and my wagon would support crappy weather anyways

I have owned one and my buddy had owned one. They are nice cars don't get me wrong, very similar to the RL as in the body shape obviously and the way they drive. Much quicker though obviously with the V8 290 HP. Your running about low 6's, 6.2 range stock 0-60. A lot of torque too compared to the RL. I loved the car its just a matter of RWD in winter sucks, its a boat which helps in winter but snow tires + sandbags are a must in snow. Like you said you live in a non-snow area, so that is good. They are very reliable and parts are cheap. I would prefer the LS over the RL if I lived in a warmer climate but obviously in Chicago that is a problem, that is why I love my FWD 02 RL.

My finally opinion is the LS is a better car then the RL at the end of the day. Especially if you like a little preppy V8 boat.
